In an old warehouse in downtown Durham, nine dancers, dressed in pantaloons and antique blouses, gathered to film footage for an upcoming screendance, Sweat. Prior to this, the dancers had spent over a dozen hours that very same weekend working with a choreographer to bring the project to fruition from beginning to end.
Dance Program Director Tara Mullins will be traveling to Lavagna, Italy this month to present her dance film, Gull, in the new group exhibition, “Deus Ex Terra.”
Art provides us with opportunities to create and connect with each other. This year, the annual Dance Program Fall concert is serving as a crossroads for past students and current dancers to connect through dance, service, and mentorship.
