Who can audition?

All NC State students, regardless of academic major or prior dance experience, are welcome to audition.

What can I expect?

If you’re auditioning for the NCSU Dance Company, you’ll be taught and asked to perform a phrase from our repertory. You’ll also be given a short composition problem.

If you’re auditioning for the Panoramic Dance Project, you’ll learn and perform two short phrases from the company repertory. You’ll also have a chance to make up your own short dance phrase based on a theme given to you at the audition.

What should I wear?

No special attire is necessary—just wear comfortable dance clothes. You’ll audition in bare feet.

What should I do to prepare?

You don’t need to prepare anything—just show up ready to dance. Registration isn’t required, but we would love to know ahead of time if you’re interested in auditioning.
