State Dance Company Concert 2023

The State Dance Company presents its annual concert on April 6 and 7, 2023, at 7 p.m. in Stewart Theatre. The concert includes a premiere of a soulful group work by Luigi-trained dancer and ADF instructor Tracey Durbin titled I Didn’t Know What Time it Was. Dance faculty member Autumn Mist Belk will present a new screendance, Distanced (from) Yellow. Dance Program director Tara Mullins’ newest work highlights how inaccurate representations of women of the Old Testament/Torah are used to control a political and social agenda. Kassandra Taylor Newberry’s highly energetic and rhythmic  Ah…I See, which premiered in the Dance Program Fall Concert, will be performed by the company once again. To round out the concert, dance faculty member Joan Nicholas-Walker will premiere Thursday, and State Dance Company alumna Jenna Finkelstein will premiere a new work.

Directions to Stewart Theatre: The Panoramic Dance Project Concert takes place in Stewart Theatre inside Talley Student Union (3rd floor) on the NC State University Campus. Address: 2610 Cates Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27695. Stewart Theatre Easy and Free Parking: After 5 p.m. on weekdays you can park for free in the Coliseum Parking Deck. Learn about parking options here.
