Tara Z. Mullins, Director & Artistic Director of the State Dance Company
Tara Zaffuto Mullins is the director of the NC State Dance Program, after serving for four years as the assistant director. Tara serves as the artistic director of the State Dance Company (DAN 295) and also teaches a Dance Composition (DAN 272) and Independent Study in Dance (DAN 498) courses, in addition to the Master Class Series. Tara has a bachelor’s degree in dance from James Madison University and a master’s in dance from Arizona State University, where she received the Faculty Women’s Association Distinguished Master Degree Candidate Award for her work developing arts programs for homeless youth, as well as the inaugural Herberger College of Fine Arts Fellowship. Francine Ott, Dance Lecturer & Artistic Director of the Panoramic Dance Project
Francine Elizabeth Ott, a native of New Orleans, is the newly appointed NC State Dance Program Dance Lecturer who serves as the artistic director of the Panoramic Dance Project. Francine also teaches the dance program’s Master Class Series open to all NC State students. Francine received her bachelor’s in dance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was studying with the artists that she admires, including Camille A. Brown and Dancers, Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, A Dance Company, Brian Green and Tony Kundu. Francine received her master’s degree in mental health Counseling at Nyack Collegeand has her own company, Francine E. Ott/The Walk, where she integrates the mental health field with the arts. Alexandra Burchette, NC State Dance Program Assistant
Alexandra Burchette is an NC State Alumni and former Panoramic Dance Project member. Alexandra graduated from NC State with a BS in Textile Technology with a focus in Textile Design. She continues her practice of dance and textiles in Durham, NC, where she lives with her husband, James, and her cat, Jiji. Alexandra looks forward to joining the dance program in its commitment to enrich the lives of dancers at NC State.
Annalise Boese, NC State Dance Community Engagement Assistant
Annalise Boese is a graduate student in the College of Education and a former member of the State Dance Company. She graduated from NC State in May of 2019 with a BA in English Literature and spent all four years of her undergraduate career with the Dance Program. She is excited to join the Dance Program in this new way and help engage the community in our programming.
LilyGrace Wolfe, NC State Dance Student Ambassador
LilyGrace Wolfe is a current undergraduate student at NC State University, working toward a B.A. in Communication Media and a minor in Art Studies. As a student, her involvement includes her time spent as an Orientation Leader for NC State New Student Programs, performing in University Theatre’s 2019 production of Cabaret, and her membership in the State Dance Company. She is thrilled to further her involvement with the Dance Program and share her love of the arts with the rest of the NC State community.
